Task Order No. 10444 with Riedesel Engineering for Waterline Replacement Lynhurst Place to W. Penwood to EndTASK ORDER NO. 10444 Pursuant to the MASTER AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES BETWEEN CITY OF MERIDIAN (OWNER) AND RIEDESEL ENGINEERING (ENGINEER) This Task Order is made this 7th day of January, 2014 and entered into by and between the City of Meridian, a municipal corporation organized under the laws of the State of Idaho, hereinafter referred to as City", and accepted by (RIEDESEL ENGINEERING) hereinafter referred to as "Engineer" pursuant to the mutual promises, covenant and conditions contained in the Master Agreement between the above mentioned parties dated December 2, 2013. The Project Name for this Task Order 10444 is as follows: CITY OF MERIDIAN WATERLINE REPLACEMENT - LYNHURST PL TO W PENWOOD TO END PROJECT UNDERSTANDING The Consultant shall provide professional engineering services related to the design of approximately 300 LF of new 6" water main, reconnection of existing water services, reconnection/ replacement of 1 existing fire hydrant, and design of 1 new fire hydrant along W. Penwood, from Lynhurst Place to the end of the cul-de-sac. Installation may be open trenching or pipe -bursting depending on the outcome of the Consultant's investigation of the project area. SCOPE OF WORK Task 1- Administration 1.1. Consultant will provide plans, specifications and construction support for the construction of the water main, record drawings will be submitted after construction has been completed. Written communication will be through the City's project management software (e -Builder) which shall include but is not limited to: • Reports • Drawings • Requests for Information • General Project Documentation and Communication Task Order 10444 WATERLINE REPLACEMENT - LYNHURST PL TO W PENWOOD TO END Page 1 of 4 RIEDESEL ENGINEERING • Pay Invoices Assumptions • Progress meetings will not be required due to short duration of the project. • Progress reports will be submitted monthly through e -Builder. • An estimated three (3) invoices will be submitted to the City. • City will provide access to e -Builder to the Engineer. Task 2- Design Surveying 2.1 Field work associated with performing topographic survey required to create plan sheets. Consultant shall coordinate with Dig -Line to have existing utilities located prior to performing topographic surveying. Engineer will also request utility maps from the utility companies. Assumptions • Topographic survey shall include edge of pavement, roadway crown, shoulder, ditches, fences, buildings, mailboxes, driveways, existing utilities, and any other item deemed necessary that may impact the project. • Existing utilities will be surveyed that are on the horizontal surface and visible including manholes, catch basins, fire hydrants, etc. • Survey control will be set for construction staking and shown on the plan set. • Survey will include property pins if found without any exploration. 2.2. This task shall include office work associated with drafting the topographic survey and establishing the right-of-way and property lines. We anticipate that for the purpose of this project we will be able to define the existing public right-of-way and property lines form record of surveys and subdivision plats recorded with Ada County on-line. This does not include any property dispute efforts or right-of- way acquisition documentation. Task 3- Design Work 3.1. This task includes work associated with the design of the new water main. Consultant shall design the water line per City of Meridian design requirements and the most current version of the ISPWC's, if there are any discrepancies in standards the City of Meridian specifications will be applied. Assumptions • A maximum of two (2) fire hydrants shall be included within the 300 ft section. Consultant will coordinate with the Public Works Department and Fire Department on location of the Fire Hydrant at the end of the cul-de-sac. Task Order 10444 WATERLINE REPLACEMENT - LYNHURST PL TO W PENWOOD TO END Page 2 of 4 RIEDESEL ENGINEERING • Proposed water line shall tie into the existing main line located within Lynhurst Place. City shall provide record drawings of the water main. Task 4- Construction Document Preparation and Review 4.1. Develop plans and specifications and bid schedule that meet current design standards and standard specifications of the City and the ISPWC's. Consultant shall prepare a Traffic control plan to be included in the construction plans. All plan set submittals shall be delivered on full size (22" x 34") physical copies as well as submitted through e -Builder. • Traffic control plan will be submitted to ACHD for review and approval. Consultant will revise plans as necessary and resubmit. • The contractor may use the plan to assist him in obtaining a permit from ACRD. The contractor will make necessary revisions to the traffic control as required by ACHD. • Consultant shall prepare Erosion and Sediment Control Plan (ESCP) to be included in the construction plans. • ESCP will be submitted to ACHD and the City for review and approval. Consultant will revise plans as necessary and resubmit. • The ESCP will be prepared in accordance with the City of Meridian Construction Stormwater Management Program. • The contractor may use the ESCP to assist him in obtaining a permit from ACHD. The contractor will make necessary revisions to the ESCP as required by ACHD. 4.2. Submit five (5) full size (22" x 34") physical copies of plans and specifications to City Engineering for Development Services and Environmental review and approval, Consultant shall revise plans as necessary and resubmit. 4.3. Submit four (4) full size (22" x 34") physical copies of plans and specifications to City Engineering for QLPE (Qualified Licensed Professional Engineer) review and approval, Consultant shall revise plans as necessary and resubmit. 4.4. Submit two (2) full size (22" x 34") physical copies of plans to ACHD for review and approval after QLPE has approved plans, Consultant shall revise plans as necessary and resubmit. 4.5. Submit two (2) full size (22" x 34") physical copies of plans and specifications of the final construction documents with inclusion of any changes from the review process. A NTP issued on a different date will change the schedule accordingly. No compensation will be paid over the Not -to -Exceed amount without prior written approval by the City in the form of a Change Order. The hourly rates for services and direct expenses are per the Master Agreement (by this reference made a part hereof) and will be the basis for any additions and/or deletions in services rendered. Travel and meals are excluded from this Task Order unless explicitly listed in the Scope of Services AND Payment Schedule.
