Dear Mayor:
I am new to Meridian, and seeking an opportunity to be of service to the community. My
wife and I relocate a year ago to be closer to our Grandchildren, We are learning to
appreciate the community and it's many attributes. I am interested inn the Impact Fee
Advisory Commission posted on the Home Page. I have attached an application and
resume for your review.
I have spent my entire career in public service, specifically public safety. I have served as a
police officer, arson investigator, fire chief (both career and volunteer) and been a student
of public safety for several decades. In my last employment, I worked with communities in
Montana on fire protection related Issues, and dealt specifically with the impact fee issue.
I am not involved in local politics at all and, I believe, that I have a clear understanding of
the issues involved with levying impactfees. Should you find another candidate better
suited to the position, I will remain available to serve the city in any role needed.
Sincerely yours,
7
Seldon S. Weedon
