Thank you. Jacy Jones Senior Deputy City Clerk City of Meridian iionesC?meridiancity. orQ 208-888-4433 ext• 1393 From: ]ane Sessions [mailto:janesessions@yahoo.com] Sent: Monday, March 24, 2014 3:24 PM To: Machelle Hill; Jacy ]ones Subject: Private Road: Picard Street in Jackson Square Development March 24, 2014 City of Meridian City Council Department Meridian, ID 83642 To Whom it may concern, I am writing this letter to bring to your attention the problem with private road "Picard Street". When this road was created it was intended to be a private neighborhood road and not a thoroughfare. It now connects Eagle Road (one of the busiest in the state of Idaho) and Ustick Road(One of the longest roads in Ada County). This road use is amplified because of the new medians that block access to entering and exiting Eagle Road. In addition to that concern, Jimmy John's uses it heavily all day and evening for their delivery business and now all the additional rental properties just built on Leblanc has created excessive traffic as well. As a homeowner in Jackson Square we have been alerted to the fact that since this is a private road owned by our development, we are now in a delicate situation with new information, that we as well as the other homeowners, could be held liable in a situation where an accident may happen. We understand that there is an additional development slated for the property just east of the newest development, the Centrepoint rentals. We are writing to you today to ask that the City of Meridian postpone any further development approvals until the matter of this private road can be solved. It is not fair or resonable that the City of Meridian or Ada County should expect an HOA to maintain or be liable for a thoroughfare used by far too many vehicles each day that have no affiliation to our neighborhood. Let it also be known that where our home is situated, we witness near accidents and heavy disregard for the current stop signs both at Picard Street and Leblanc and Picard Street and Centrepoint. We have alerted the City of Meridian Police with our concerns many times. It is just a matter of time till someone is seriously hurt. We gratefully appreciate your attention to this matter.
