Dear Honorable Mayor and City Council Members:
We have reviewed the Staff Report for the above referenced application and we are in agreement with
all conditions excepting the pressurized irrigation requirement.
There are two primary reasons for our request that the pressurized irrigation requirement be waived.
Minimal Landscaping. Four of the six lot will be used as storage yards for the four existing lots which
front to East Lanark Street and no landscaping will be required. The other two lots, one fronting to N.
Olson Avenue and the other to Franklin Road will have minimal landscaping. The lot fronting N. Olson is
a small industrial lot and the lot fronting Franklin Road is an existing residential use and is served by a
well. It may bean option to convert the use of the well from domestic to irrigation at such time that this
lot is redeveloped from the current residential use. In addition, there is irrigation water delivery on
Franklin Road which serve the current residential use and could be used for the future commercial use.
No Waste Water Drain. In working with Nampa Meridian Irrigation District, it was determined that even
though in theory it is possible to locate a pressurized irrigation system to serve these six lots, it is not
practical, economical or even desirable. I have attached a letter frorr, Greg Curtis, the Water
Superintendent for the Nampa Meridian Irrigation District, addressing a pressurized irrigation system for
these six lots.
The primary issue in regard to constructing a pressurized irrigation system is that there is na readily
accessible drain for the waste water. In order to reach the Evans Drain, the waste water would have to
travel approximately 8501f, across two adjoining parcels and under the road. Again, while possible, it is
not practical or economical to construct a pressurized irrigation system for these six lots, five of which
are industrial uses.

Due to the fact that there will be minimal landscaping and no practical way to provide pressurized
irrigation in a cost effective manner, I ask that the City Council please waiver the pressurized irrigation
requirement for the Olson Bush No. 3 Subdivision.
