Public CommentMeridian October 6, 2013 Meridian City Clerk 33 E. Broadway Avenue Meridian, Idaho - 83642 This is a property owner protest against application RZ 13-011 to rezone 1.59 acres from R-8 to R-15 and application CUP 13-011 to construct amulti-family development on said 1.59 acres. 2"d street, adjacent to the property, is zoned R-4, Maple Avenue, adjacent to the property, is zoned R-4 and Midtown Street, adjacent to the property is zoned R-8. It does not serve the public interests to rezone the property for higher density and multi-family use in a single family residential area. Rezoning the properly will: 1. Reduce properly values in the surrounding area 2. Increase traffic 3. Create more traffic hazards for grade school children 4. Increase noise levels during and after construction Such a rezone only benefits the developers. There is no benefit for the existing adjacent properly owners. Rezoning places the interests of the developers ahead of the interests of the current residential property owners. Rezoning is another example of a special interest group being showed favoritism over the general public. There at least two (2) single family residences in the adjacent area (one on 2"~ street and one on Maple Avenue) for sale; possibly as a result of news of the two above proposals. Please reject application RZ 13-011 and CUP 13-011. Sincerely, ~~~~ ~ Wayne C. Stephens 1406 N. Midtown St. Meridian, Idaho
