ITD has the following comments: 1) ITD has no objection to the rezone and preliminary plat applications. ITD previously reviewed the earlier design of this subdivision and the new site design generates similar traffic volumes. 2) The US 20-26 intersection with Tree Farm Way has previously been constructed and the traffic signal is operational. The applicants should coordinate the change in signal operations with the Ada County Highway District staff. Any change in the intersection design will require approval by the Idaho Transportation Department. 3) The site plan shows Tree Farm Way as the only approach to US 20-26. No additional approaches to US 20-26 are reviewed or approved with application. 4) ITD currently maintains 40-ft ofright-of--way south of the section line. The site plan does not identify the planned right-of--way for US 20-26. ITD requires a minimum of 70-ft south of the section line. This will provide 140-ft of total right of way and allow a future six-lane roadway. This right-of--way is only sufficient for the future roadway. An additiona130-ft ofright-of--way is necessary if the City of Meridian requires sidewalk, landscaping or roadway lighting within the corridor. 5) The applicants should be reminded that commercial and advertising signs are not permitted within the ITD right-of--way. 6) The applicants should be reminded that any landscaping or noise berms abutting US 20-26 should not interfere with the natural flow of surface water or run-off. If you have any questions, you may contact Matt Ward at 334-8341 or me at 334-8377.
