Adoption of the Agenda X_ John Wasson _X_ Bill Nary _X_ Blaine Tewell _X_ Ryan Lancaster Annual Report added onto agenda as Item 7 -motion by Ryan Lancaster and second by Faye Gabriel to adopt the agenda as amended -all ayes -motion carried. 4. Approve Minutes of September 25, 2012 Special Meeting Motion by Faye Gabriel and second by John Gonzales -all ayes -motion carried. 5. Old Business None. 6. New Business 1. Parking Issues on N. Hickory Discussion Mike Ford emailed concerns to the Mayor's Office regarding trucks parking up and down the street and the Mayor's Office spoke to Mr. Brown in curb enforcement. Mike did report that Mr. Brown has done a good job in talking with the truck drivers; since that time the parking issues have gotten better. Bill Nary gave some background on the parking ordinance for the city. John Wasson discussed the pros Traffic Safety Meeting Minutes, October 16, 2012 -Page 1 of 2 and cons of posting no parking and/or limited parking signs. John Wasson suggested working with the business owner and possibly meeting onsite with the office manager of the Doctor's office at that location and discuss further the issues. 2. School Transportation Safety Issues for 2012-2013 Discussion Don Nesbitt from the school district was in attendance. Topic of discussion is pathways and the problems thereof. Don Nesbitt reported that the repercussion of budget cuts, etc., are huge traffic jams with children being brought to school instead of school transportation. Vehicles seem to be congregating at the pathways and bike lanes due to the overflow. Six requests have been made by the school district to ACRD for September of this year for different improvements to different school areas to eliminate some safety bussing/issues. John Wasson reported that ACHD collects several million dollars every year that are earmarked for making these types of improvements for pedestrians and cyclists that comes from the vehicle registration fee. 3. Pine Street Progress Discussion 4. Meridian Elementary Relating to Split Corridor Construction Discussion ACRD will be installing some improvements along the fourth street corridor. Will be installing some permanent and some temporary stop control between about E. 3`d Street and W. 8th Street. 7. Future Topics Bill Nary reported that the draft Annual Report has been prepared and ready for the Commission's review for the November meeting.
