RE: Citadel Self Storage
AZ12-011 and CUP12-016
Dear Mr. Parsons:
On behalf of the Applicant, I'm providing additional information regarding sound attenuation as it
relates to the proposed Citadel Self Storage, and to address specific standards for self storage, as found
in Meridian City Code 11-4-3-34 ("Storage Facility, Self Storage").
Citadel Self Storage abuts the Hightower Subdivision, a residential neighborhood, on the southern
boundary. Currently, those lot owners have a continuous 6-foot vinyl fence the entire distance of the
property line. In addition to the existing 6-foot vinyl fence, Citadel Self Storage proposes a 10-foot
landscape buffer, and then to construct a 20-foot deep storage unit along the entire southern boundary.
(See Exhibit 1). The height of the storage unit along the landscape buffer is 8' 9". This area, which
includes the landscape buffer and self-storage building, provides a 30-foot distance from the property
line to the nearest internal drive aisle.
We propose that the existing 6-foot vinyl fence, l0-foot landscape buffer to the rear of the storage unit,
an 8' 9" rear wall of the storage unit, and the 20-foot deep building provides the required sound
attenuation as described by this section of the Meridian City Code.
Sincerely,
