Subject: File MDA 12-007 Centrepoint Sub 2
Dear Councilmen
I would like to start by introducing myself. My name is Ed Bollinger and I reside at 2800 Jasmine Lane in Meridian. I am
writing you on behalf of myself and my neighbors regarding our concerns with W.H. Moore's application for multi-family
housing.
Our concerns are the proposal to change from a 25 feet setback to 10 feet located at the northern property line of
Centrepoint No.2
I hope you consider our neighborhood character and identity. Compatibility of land use impacts our livability, public
service, traffic levels
and property values. When you have multi-family apartments, statistics show that you increase crime and security
becomes a problem.
Increasing the height limitation for multi-family apartments from 35 feet to 40 feet should allow for more setback to
properly landscape. We feel 25 feet is the adequate setback with a well constructed fence or wall. Examples can be seen
behind Lowes or off Centrepoint on the south side of Ustick.
As you know a 15 feet reduction in landscaping can make the world of difference in a buffer zone.
In addition we have a letter dated 10-19-2006 from W.H. Moore stating he sees no problem with a 25' setback opposed
to a 20'
He also mentions that he anticipates a fence of at least 10 feet.
All we are looking for is to get a proper setback, fencing, and landscaping to protect our families and property values. A
reduction in setback of 15 feet x 680 feet increases M. H. Moores profitability of a minimum of $s.00 a square foot. Not
bad for a couple of hours work, and decreases our property values.
Thank you for your concerns in this matter.
Regards,
Ed Bollinger, Jasmine Homeowners Association
