Public Testimony by William GardoskiChanging NE 21/2 St. to NE 2nd Just a bad idea! I see no need to change the street name for emergency response, public health and safety?? or othervyise. After all these years all response teams SHOULD know by now where we are located, as there is only ONE street with this name, i am not aware of any problems in the past due to the street name, AND there is a West 2Bd sheet on the west side of Main St. which could confuse matters. even more. The United States Postal Service has in the past really screwed things up when a change in address takes place. OUR PASSPORTS, MORTGAGE, UTILITY BILLINGS, CREDIT CARDS, LEGAL DOCUMENTS, TAX INFORMATION, BANK ACCOUNTS, FRIEND AND RELTTTVES CONTACT RECORDS, BUSINESS CONTACTS and ALL other paperwork that is important to our family are set with this address we now have on 2 % St. as it has been for many years, and I am sure that it will have a negative effect on all residents living on the said street. I see nothing but problems for the residents living on 2 '/2 St. should this change take plaice, and really see no logical reason for the change in the first place. My wife works at Idaho Independent Bank here in Meridian, as Operations Officer, and she has many times related to me the problems associated with address changes with bank accounts. Certainly there is something more important for the city to be doing than ties. Myself, my family, and everyone on this street i have spoken to, is against this change as I am. Please consider NOT changing the street name, LEAVE TT AS TT IS, and do not upset our lives with this, to me, frivolous change for no reason that I can understand. Also, there is an additional burden of cost to change the signs both to the city and tax payers which we do not need. at this time. Besides, I enjoy the giggles i get fiom folks when I tell them my address. William Gardoski Eileen Gardoski 1620 E. 2 '/z St. Meridian Idaho, 83642 208-887-3768
