Public TestimonyJune 27, 2012 Dear City of Meridian, The Hollybrook Homeowners Association Board has met to review the proposal for driveway changes on Arrowwood street and are in favor of the proposed changes. We feel this will help ease the illegal offsite parking on Arrowwood street, and thereby improve the safety of our residents. The current design forces guests, and even residents, to seek offsite parking; which constricts traffic and safety. Please consider this when reviewing the proposed changes to the development agreement. If you have any questions regarding our position, please contact me. Sincerely, ~~ Peter S. Tew 208.371.9094 President Hollybrook Homeowners Association Dear The City of Meridian, June, 25, 2012 We are writing in opposition to the plans that are being proposed in the Hollybrook Subdivision. The application information is MDA 12- 003 by Kevin Howell Construction. We live directly behind the street where Howell construction is proposing to build one and two story homes. We have a nice spacious backyard at this current time, as do all of our immediate neighbors. When looking at the current proposal it needs to be noted that there are two or three lots that will be in the area behind our ONE lot. After talking to Bill Parsons at the city we found out that usually the city tries to make the lots sizes similar to the homes that are existing in the area. However, when this land was plotted, the city allowed many small lots on Arrowwood Way that are not consistent with the current lot sizes in the Sundance Subdivision. We are requesting that the homes that be built in the new area by Howell construction be limited to one story. We realize that the homes lots are small and that he wants to make money off this project, however we do not feel like we should have apartment size homes behind our property. We will be affected with two or three homes peering over our fence lines, especially when the lot setbacks in the back are only 12 feet from our fence lines. Our homes are very far from the fence and we enjoy our privacy. We do not want to feel subjected to new neighbors peering over our fence and into what are our private backyards just to squeeze many homes onto these very small lots. We know that two homes have already been built on this road and share a driveway. We understand that the parking plan is not working. However, these homes appear to be built on the same size lots as are behind our homes and we would appreciate it if the newly planned homes to be built are limited to one story similar to the existing two homes on that street. We realize we cannot stop growth and that is not our request. What we want to see is that they be limited to one story, not two. This will allow us to somewhat maintain our privacy and not be as impacted by the two or three homes to one that are along our backyards. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions or clarifications.
