The city of Meridian, under current code, would allow five (5) center signs @ 35' in over all height and 200 square feet each. The center would also be allowed, on the parcels that will be sold, approximately fourteen (14) 20' over all height 80 square foot freestanding signs. We believe that many signs is going to take away from the ambiance of the development that we are trying to create. We feel like this will be signs overdone for what we are trying to accomplish. We feel that eliminating ten (10) of those smaller signs and exchanging the square footage to add that square footage to the five (5) center signs is much more desirable for the overall safety of the motoring public, and the esthetics of the overall development. This will allow the motoring public easier readability and help them to make decisions sooner on where they need to go. Moving the square footage of the freestanding signs to the five (5) center signs with the elimination of ten (10) freestanding signs will help remove much of the sign overload that could overload the motorist with smaller but many more displays. We are proposing that the five (5) center signs be allowed to stay at 35' overall height but expand to 355 square feet as shown.
