RE: City Council Review Conditions for an Accessory Use Permit (AUP-12-001) for a Home
Occupation located at 1750 N. Ten Mile Road.
Dear Mr. White:
~~r
On March 13, 2012, the Meridian City Council concluded the review of your request of the.
denial of the home occupation permit at the referenced address. After reviewing your testimony
and considering the facts, the Council approved your request subject to conditions. In order to
obtain the formal approval the following conditions must be satisfied by Apri130, 2012:
1. No outdoor storage, display or signs in the front yard adjacent to N. Ten Mile Road. The
single sign on Ten Mile that says" I Replace Shovel Handles" is allowed to remain as
long as the sign does not change in terms, cost, times, locations, or any other advertising,
and there is no complaint from the owners of the fence. The other two signs (orange sign
listing tools and the white sign with the phone number) must be removed.
2. Vehicular access to the accessory structure (detached garage) shall be taken from N. Ten
Mile Road between Walgreens, south of the subject property.
3. One sign, prepared by a professional sign designer, not to exceed six square feet in size is
allowed. The subject sign may be a freestanding sign located near the display area or a
building sign attached to the accessory structure. '
4. Only refurbished and other goods for sale may be displayed on the pad in front of the
accessory structure. All raw materials (goods not refurbished for sale) shall be stored out
of public view either on the north side of the accessory structure or shall be screened by a
six foot fence. The raw materials may not be stored on the pad of the accessory structure.
This area is for the display of goods for sale. A building permit is required for the
construction of any fence. Please contact 887-2211 for more information regarding a
building permit. ,
5. The accessory structure shall be connected to the main house with a trellis. The
trellis/structure that has been constructed between the house and the accessory building
shall be mirrored on the opposite side of the sidewalk with overhead connections at
regular intervals to create a walkway structure. A building permit is also required for the
construction of the trellis.

6. One space for customer parking is required. If parking is not provided on the pad in front
of the accessory structure, written permission for off site parking is required from the
appropriate adjacent property owner.
7. The permit is subject to revocation by the City with thirty days notice and the approval
shall cease with a change of ownership of the property.
8. All requirements listed above shall be completed by Apri130, 2012 or the approval is
void. An Accessory Use Permit will not be issued until all permits have been secured and
the work is complete to the satisfaction of the City of Meridian.
