RE: Meridian City Annexation of 1195 West Overland Rd
Dear Ms Wafters:
Due to drain field failure of my septic tank and filtration system, it has become necessary to evaluate
replacement options. Because of recent implementation of the new codes by Central District Health, in
conjunction with the proximity of the home to the Hardin drain (creek), the current system cannot be
reasonably replaced, making it necessary to consider the option of connecting to Meridian City Services.
However, to qualify for city sewer service, my property (home), located at 1195 West Overland Rd, must
be annexed into the City of Meridian. Accordingly, incompliance with city annexation requirements, I
dutifully submit this narrative, expressing my eminent need to become a part of the City of Meridian
under zone R 8.
Unfortunately, during construction and widening of Overland Road, 2007-1009, city sewer services were
not extended to my property frontage on Overland, placing an unusual financial burden upon me to
install approximately 900 feet of pipe along the Hardin Drain easement of the Meridian/Nampa
Irrigation District at an approximate cost of $30,000. This does not include any costs associated with
connecting to city water. Therefore, I respectfully request a variance and reprieve from connecting with
city water until such time the property is developed.

COMMITMENT OF PROPERTY POSTING
Per Unified Development Code (UDC) 11-SA-SD, the applicant for all applications requiring a
public hearing (except for a UDC text amendment, a Comprehensive Plan text amendment

Dear Neighbor:
Due to drain field failure of my septic tank and 1•tltration system, it has been necessary to evaluate
replacement options. Because of recent implementation of the new codes by Central District Health, in
conjunction with the house location and proximity of the Hardin drain (creek), the current system
cannot be replaced, making it necessary to connect to the Meridian city sewer system.
To do so, my property at 1195 West Overland Rd must become a part of the City of Meridian, effectively
allowing me to qualify for city services. Therefore, in compliance with annexation requirements, I am
holding a 7:OOpm neighborhood meeting on October 3, at Moxie Java, 1760 S. Meridian Road (just south
of Overland Rd intersection), Ste 101, Meridian, ID 83642, (208.898.8864) to discuss why I must apply
for annexation into the city of Meridian.
