It is prescribed by Code that any stand-alone parking lot within the OT zone in Meridian requires a Conditional Use Application and approval. As you know, MDC is currently in the process of building a 16,000-sf office building that is currently undergoing the condominium platting process. COMPASS and Valley Regional Transit will purchase their respective condominiums once the platting process is complete. MDC will retain ownership of the adjacent parking lot that will serve as the required parking for the condominiums but will also allow for additional public parking that is quite limited in downtown Meridian. A neighborhood meeting was held on September 22, 2011 at The Ground Floor on Idaho Street however; no one from the public attended the meeting.
