RE: Second and Broadway Condominiums -Short Plat Application
Dear Mr. Friedman:
As the Project Manager of the Meridian Development Corporation [MDC], please accept this
Short Plat Application. As you know, MDC is currently in the process of building a 16,000-sf
office building that will house both COMPASS and Valley Regional Transit. Both entities will
purchase their respective condominiums once the platting process is complete.
As part of the agreement with both entities, MDC will retain ownership of the adjacent
parking lot that will serve as the required parking for the condominiums but will also allow
for additional public parking that is quite limited in downtown Meridian. A shared parking
and cross access agreement will be entered into by all parties. A total of 56 parking spaces
are provided with only 33 being required for the building.
MDC has worked with all of our professional partners including Erstad Architects, Civil
Survey Consultants and The Land Group to ensure that this project meets all of the
requirements and provisions of the Uniform Development Code and conforms with all
acceptable engineering, architectural and surveying practices/standards.
This project is a fantastic example of a public, public, public partnership and will bring a
new energy into downtown Meridian. We respectfully request approval of this Short Plat
