As far as the Planning Department is concerned, occupancy may be granted and the surety from RSCI for $2,406•may be refunded. '-~ r!.~ Note to file: There is a planter island just to the north of this site (on the golf course lot) that they a,re ' (re)installing. The materials within the planter were on this maintenance site, but have .not yet been ~ installed because the curbing has not been poured. Also, although not on this site, I talked with Rich Rush about making the weed area on the other side of the canal more attractive (at least putting weed killer down and re-sodding). He said- they were coming up with a plan to make that look better from the street. I believe this is actually a HOA common lot. Finally, the lighting issue seems 8 to have been resolved. Below is a summary of what has transpired so far. We would like some direction on how to procE~ed. , On September 2, 2005 Brad Hawkins-Clark issued a certificate of zoning compliance (CZC-05-1 ].5) t fora 5,400 sq. ft. maintenance bldg w/ office and storage. On June 19, 2006 I did a site check. The , ~ landscaping along. the street (Dawson) and on the south side of the building was not complete. L. There were no life safety issues and I obtained a $2,400 surety from RSCI to complete the remaining ~ LS. I recommended to the Bldg Dept. that they give RSCI a temporary occupancy until 9-1=06 to ` ~ complete the LS; the Bldg. Dept. issued a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (TCO) unti19-1-0~3. On 11-3-06 we called Harrison Hotchkiss with RSCI and told him that the TCO had expired and that he needs to complete the LS and'lighting issue (a neighbor called and complained about it note" ` _ - , ~ being shielded)- out there ASAP. I asked Bldg to extend the TCO to ~12-21-06, in anticipation of i RSCI's completion; Bldg complied with my request. On January 3, 2007, after being reminded from C Brent Bjornson that the TCO had again expired for this project, I again called Harrison for an update. He informed me that he was going to check with his `guys and see where they are with the punch list and get back to me. I have not heard from him since. I left` a message for him on Monday € the 29th of January and he has not returned my call. f This one is a little bit odd. in that the City actually. owns the ground under which the maintenances , building lies. I have discussed. with Brent the option of posting the building "not approved for occupancy.'' But before we do so, I wanted to get some feedback from you. Bldg is in a tough spot because they need to issue the CO but. I can't sign off. Again we do have. $2,400 that we can use, but , we historically haven't done that. The main idea with the not approved for occupancy sticker is i.o ~ get there attention, If it comes to spring time I guess we can take the surety and plant the trees a.nd , sod ourselves.
