BY THE CITY COUNCIL: BIRD, HOAGLUN, ROUNTREE ZAREMBA
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MERIDIAN, APPOINTING BLAINE JOHNSTON AS A COMMISSIONER OF THE
MERIDIAN HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Meridian City Code Title 2, Chapter 1 establishes the Meridian Historic
Preservation Commission, its members and terms of their appointments; and
WHEREAS, Seat 2 of the Meridian Historic Preservation is currentl vacant and

WHEREAS, Blaine Johnston may be appointed to fill the vacanc of Seat 2 of the Meridian
Y
Historic Preservation Commission for a term to expire in April of 2013;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Meridian deems the a ointment Blaine Johnston

Meridian;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF

Let me introduce myself, my name is Blaine Johnston a

I am a native Idahoan, born and raised in Boise, M wife

am a licensed architect, and I have worked for Idaho Pow
er for almost 30 years, I
have designed substation buildings and landsca es a!I over I

nstruct buildings like we used to build them.
The craffsman that used build brick buildin s no Ion er-exist
to build wood stru g g s, The carpenters that used
ctures by hand don't know how anymore, We use modern tools
make new building look like older buildin ~ ~ to

have the history or the stories that the desi ns from Tourtellott
