SUBJECT: Concept Letter for Fire Safety Education Facility
The Meridian City/Rural Fire Department would like to enter into discussions about
establishing a partnership to provide a site for a public safety education center. If
feasible, a site would be identified within the Education Campus Subdivision to
accommodate the facility. The facility could be located East of Phase 2A to relocate a
manufactured home currently owned by the Meridian City/Rural Fire Department which
would be used to instruct school age children on home fire safety practices. In addition,
the classroom maybe used for outreach programs by the Meridian Parks Department for
adult education
This outreach program would provide instruction in the following topics:
Home Evacuation procedures for fires
Cooking Safety Classes
Babysitting Classes
First Aid Classes for the Public
Crafts
Antique classes
This program has been successfully implemented by the Nampa Fire Department and has
been well received by the Nampa School District.

Works Department as regulated by City Ordinance 9-1-28. If city potable water is used, a

with more than % acre of landscaping. Year round water availability is also required by
connecting to city potable water or an on-site well as a secondary source.
