Re: Drainage ~ 850 W. Franklin Road
I reviewed your proposed parkng lot plan sketch and have the folbwing comments:
• The new asphalt should be graded such that approximately 7596 of the runoff is
directed to the south swale next to Franklin Road. A maximum of 25°6 can be
directed toward the north swale.
• The swales must begrass-lined (i.e. sod or seeded, no landscape bark).
• The north swale must be set bads from the bu~dmg at least 3 i4 feet The south
swale must be setback from the sidewalk at least 4 feet. Maximum slope on the
banks of the north Swale is 3:1 and 4:1 for the south swale.
• The length of the north Swale will be approximatey 70 feet. The length of the south
Swale Nn~l be approximately 100 feet
• In order to contain the design storm run off and provide the nequin~f 6 ind~es
freeboard, the depth of the north Swale must be 1'-2" and the depth of the south
Swale 2'-0'.
The above comments do not constitute a drainage design for
minimum requirements. I recommend you oorrtad a professional
engineer or licensed arch~ect to prepare a drainage plan. You
may proceed with your project (in terms of drainage), however.
Please call our office to sd'~edule a drainage inspection during
construction. This review does not represent any approval
