This certificate is in response to the letter dated Mav 13. 1999 reauestine written notice that the
above use is in compliance with local building and zoning codes. Local fire and building inspectors
have visited and approved the site. The fire department is concerned about potential dangers to the
children dosed by the exit on the west side of the building; due to direct access and close proximity
to Meridian Road, which is a busy arterial street. The building inspector requires that the exit remain
unlocked as a functionine emersencv exit. and recommends placins? an alarm on the door to alert.. staff
if a child opens the door.
The proposed use meets the zoning code's schedule of use control. The site is zoned General
Commercial (C-G); the proposed use is classified as a clinic; and clinics are a permitted use in the C-G
zone. The site, however, is rg ossly out of compliance with current codes in terms of landscaping,
parking buffers, and other lot requirements. The City of Meridian reserves the right to require the
owner(s) to bring the entire site into compliance with current zoning and development codes.
