313 Parks Department Fees RESOLUTION No. :J'13 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN PROVIDING FOR FEES FOR RESERVATION OF AND USE OF MERIDIAN PARI( FACILITIES; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Pursuant to Idaho Code, 50-302, the City of Meridia11 is required to malee, a11d may n1alee, all such ordiI1a11ces, by-laws, rules, regulatio11s a11d resollltio11S 110t iI1COI1sistent with the laws of the state of Idaho as Inay be expedie11t, in additio11 to tl1e special powers i11 Title 50, Idaho Code, gra11ted, to l11aintai11 the peace, good goverl1111eI1t and welfare of the City and its trade, commerce and i11dllStry; aI1d WHEREAS, Meridian City Code 9 8-7 -1 A provides that the City COll11Cil sl1all set fees for use of parIes facilities; and WHEREAS, it is in the best i11terest of the City of MeridiaI1 to establisl1 reas011able fees for the reservation of Parle facilities in the City of Meridian to preserve the peace aI1d traI1quility of the parIes, prevent overcrowding of t11e facilities, to provide fU11ds for the Inaintena11ce of the parIes, and to recoup SOIne of t11e costs that the City incllrs as a result of processing the applications for reservations. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, IDAHO: 1. That the fees set forth herein and adopted are reasoI1able and reflect, as closely as reasoI1ably possible, SOIne of the costs of the City to process t11e various RESOLUTION - 1 reservations and a portion of the Parl< InainteI1ance costs. 2. That there are hereby adopted the fees set forth below for the reservatio11 of Meridian Parle facilities including the period of tiITIe set fort11, as follows: A. Parl< Shelter Reservatio11 Storey Parle o to 50 people $30.00 Additional people $15.00 per each 50 Additional tables $ 3.00 each with maxilTIllm of 8 12 tables are located in and arou11d each shelter. Maximum of 200 people (Blocle A-lOAM to 3PM / Blocl< B- 4PM to 9PM) Tully Parl( o to 150 people Additio11al people Additiol1al tables $ 60.00 $15.00 per each 50 $ 3.00 each with a 111axi11111111 of 8 20 tables are located in the shelter. Maxilnum of 300 people (Blocl< A-I 0 AM to 3PM / Blocl< B- 4PM to 9PM) Off Peal( Hours Tully Parl< shelter available Monday through Thursday (excllldi11g holidays) from 10 AM to 3 PM at a reduced rate of $45.00. All otl1er rllles apply. * Maximuln time 011 grass is 4 hours; event holder is responsible for any turf damage. Ve11dor Inust supply generator to inflate jumping toys. RESOLUTION - 2 The above reservation fees are for a five (5) hour period of tin1e. Additional fees of $10.00 for each piece of alnusement equipmel1t vvill also be assessed for space used outside the shelter, e.g. tents, astra jlln1ps, canopies, etc. No such equiplnent vvill be perluitted 1111less proof of insurance in limits acceptable to the City is submitted by the supplier of the equipluent at the time a reservatiol1 is lnade a11d verified no later tha11 te11 (1 0) days before the reservatioI1. Dunle tal1ks vvill are not allowed. B. Softball Field ReservatioI1 $8.00 per hour c. Alcohol Permits Groups vvishing to serve alcoholic beverages to their guests 111USt C0111ply with all City and State laws and must obtain a permit. The cost of the perlnit is $20.00 al1d vvill cover one six hOllr period 0111y. D. Refunds Reservation fees l11ay be refunded if requested in writi11g at least te11 (10) days prior to the date reserved. A processing fee of $5.00 vvill be deducted from the reservation fee. Reservations may be canceled less than 10 days before the date but no refund will be given. Events canceled by inclelne11t weather vvill entitle the reservation holder to reschedule the reservatioI1 at no additional charge. RESOLUTION - 3 E. Additional Fees Additional fees may be assessed if any parle property is dalnaged, or if Parl<s & Rec Dept. elnployees must conduct excessive clea1111p. The fees charged shall be based 011 the estimated cost of repairs or the hourly wage of the elnployees (including fringe benefit costs) whose extra duty is required.
