Please consider this application for annexation of~acres of real property into the City of Meridian.
The property is contiguous to the current Meridian City limits and included in the City's
comprehensive plan.
The purpose of the annexation is to provide the property owner with city services which are
necessitated by the City's water reuse infrastructure project. Specifically, the reuse water main is
planned to be installed along the owner's property fronting Ten Mile Road. The presence of the
owner's domestic well is too close to the main to achieve the necessary separation required the
Department of Environmental Quality thus necessitating the need to provide City water to the
property. Consistent with city policy, properties.requesting or receiving city services must obtain
both sewer and water.
Since the City's actions necessitate the requirement for city services, the City is the applicant for the
annexation. Staff believes that the annexation of the subject real property is necessary to promote the
public interest

COMMITMENT OF PROPERTY POSTING
Per Unified Development Code (UDC) 11-SA-SD, the applicant for all applications requiring a
public hearing (except for a UDC text amendment, a Comprehensive Plan text amendment
and/or vacations) shall post the subject property not less than ten (10) days prior to the hearing.
The applicant shall post a copy of the public hearing notice of the application(s) on the property
under consideration.
The applicant shall submit proof of property posting in the form of a notarized statement and a
photograph of the posting to the City no later than seven (7) days prior to the public hearing
attesting to where and when the sign(s) were posted. Unless such Certificate is received by the
required date, the hearing will be continued.
The sign(s) shall be removed no later than three (3) days after the end of the public hearing for
which the sign(s) had been posted.
