A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MERIDIAN MAIGNG CERTAIN FINDINGS, AMENDING THE PERSONNEL
POLICY MANUAL SECTION IV, SUB-SECTION B, SUB-PARAGRAPH 5,
BEING OVERTIME COMPENSATION BEING THE COMMENCEMENT
DATE FROM AUGUST 26, 1998 TO SEPTEMBER 26, 1998.
NOW THEREFORE be it resolved that the Mayor and City Council, City of
Meridian, Idaho:
SECTION I. FINDINGS:
WHEREAS, Personnel Policy Manual Section IV, Subsection B, Sub-
paragraph 5 was amended by Resolution No. 1 72 pertaining to overtime
compensation; and
( WHEREAS, Resolution No. 172 provided for a commencement date of
August 26, 1998 and should have provided for a commencement date of September
26, 1998; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to pass this Resolution to correct the
commencement date hereinabove set fOli.h and to provide that this Resolution is
retroactive to September 26, 1998, regarding such matters.
SECTION 2. Subparagraph 5 of Subsection B of Section IV, Employee
Classification, Compensation, and Benefits, Compensation Policy, Personnel Policy of
the City of Meridian, Idaho, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:

5. Overtime Compensation - Compliance with Fair
Labor Standards Act. Commencing 1^l..Ugu3t 26,
1998, September 26~ 1998~ the City will no longer

convert hours worl(ed in excess of forth (40) hours
per weel( into administrative time for ~xempt
employees. All executive, administrative or
professional employees who qualify, as exempt
employees under the Fair Labor Standards Act
(FLSA) will be paid in compliance with the
applicable code of federal regulations of the (FLSA).
Any administrative time in any employee payroll
account accrued prior to the ~th dUyT of .LAAUgust,
+99-8 26th day of September~ 1998, will be available
for employee use to extend out vacation, personnel
leaves not covered under (FLSA) or unpaid Family
Medical Leave.
SECTION 3. This Resolution is retroactive to the 26th day of
September, 1998.
SECTION 4. That all other provisions of the Personnel Poli0' of the
City of Meridian, Idaho, are unchanged by this Resolution.
