BY THE CITY COUNCIL: BIRD, HOAGLUN, ROUNTREE, ZAREMBA
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MERIDIAN, APPOINTING MEGAN MURPHY TO SEAT 9 OF THE MERIDIAN ARTS
COMMISSION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Meridian City Code Title 2, Chapter 5 establishes the Meridian Arts
Commission, its members and terms of their appointments;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Meridian recognizes and values the unique
perspective and input of the youth of the Meridian community as it pertains to developing,
advancing, and nurturing all facets of the arts within the City, and to that end Meridian City
Code § 2-5-3(B) states that a youth member maybe appointed to the Meridian Arts Commission;
WHEREAS, pursuant to the bylaws of the Meridian Arts Commission, Seat 9 on the
Commission is designated for the youth member;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Meridian deems the appointment of Megan
Murphy to Seat 9 of the Meridian Arts Commission to be in the best interest of the Commission
and of the City of Meridian;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN CITY, IDAHO:
Section 1. That, pursuant to Meridian City Code § 2-5-3(B), Megan Murphy is hereby
appointed to Seat 9 of the Meridian Arts Commission, for a term to expire on August 31, 2011.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
adoption and approval.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Meridian, Idaho, this 23rd day of
November, 2010.
