RE: City of Meridian Police Department Rezone - RZ 10-003
Rezone
1401 E Watertower Street (Lot 8, BlocK 2 Merdoch Sub. #2) T3N R1 E S18
Dear Ms. Holman:
Thank you for the opportunity to review and comment on the City of Meridian Police Department
application for rezone from R-8 (Medium-Density Residential) to C-G (General Retails and
Service Commercial District), RZ 10-003
As you may know, Idaho Department of Lands' mission is to manage State Endowment 'frost
Lands (State Trust Lands) in a mannEr that will maximizE long-term financial returns to the
Beneficiary Institutions. State Trust Lands are not public lands or "opEn space". These are
working lands producing revenue. The mission of the Department of Lands is a constitutional
mandate and is overseen by the State Board of Land Commissioners.
Idaho Department of Lands (IDL) has reviewed the application materials dated September 27,
2010 provided by the City of Meridian, for the Meridian Police Department rezone. Based on the
documentation provided to IDL, the development will not impact State Trust Lands. Should the
application be modified during the review or approval process, IDL requests that updated
information be submitted to the Southwest Area Manager for additional review.
Thank you again for the opportunity to review and comment on this application. Please contact
me at (208) 334-3488 if you have questions or need more information.
Sincerely,
P-~~
