RESOLUTION N0. 72
A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING A GENERAL CITY ELECTTON TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 6,
1979, DESIGNATING THE POLLING PLACES, DESIGNATING THE REGISTRAR AND DEPUTY
REGISTRARS, AND ORDERING THE CITY CLERK TO GIVE NOTICE OF SUCH ELECTION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, IDAHO,
THAT:
Section 1. The General City Election will be held in and for the City
of Meridian, on the 6th day of November, at which time there will be elected
a mayor and two (2) councilmen to serve for a term of four (4) years, and
one (1) councilman fora term of two (2) years, or until the election and
qualification of their successors.
Section 2. The following are designated as the polling places for such
Election:
For the First Precinct: Meridian Rural Fire Station
For the Second Precinct: Legion Hall
Section 3. That LaWana L. Niemann, City Clerk, is hereby designated as
Registrar.
Section 4. The City Clerk, for and on behalf of the Mayor and Council,
shall give public notice of the time and place for holding such General City
Election by posting such notice in three (3) public p1 aces or publishing such
notice in at least two (2) issues of the Valley News Times, a newspaper printed
and published in the City of Meridian, Tdaho, the first publication of such
notice to be made not less than 45 days previous to the date of such City
election and the last publication not more than 15 days, nor less than five (5)
days previous to the Election; the notice so published shall state the places
of registration and the name of the Registrar and the requirements for
registration of electors at such city, and such other information as may be
necessary to give full facts and said notice shall be given in accordance
with the requirements of Section 50-436 of the Idaho Code.
PASSED by the City Council and approved by ~ Mayor of the City of
Meridian, this 4th day of September, 1979.
