Valeri Place Subdivision
Dear Vickie:
The Fence Variance Committee of the City of Meridian met in your
presence at 4:45 P.M., April 12, 1993, in City Hall to consider
your request to vary from a six (6) foot maximum fence height.
After consideration of your request, the Committee decided to allov~
a height variance subject to the following conditions:
1. The maximum top elevation of the finished fence shall not
exceed 6 feet 8 inches above the elevation of top back of
vertical curb constructed along Cherry Lane and/or Linder
Road. The top back of vertical curb elevation shall be
established in the field by your development engineer prior to
fence construction.
2. The fence location .and height at the entrance roads to the
subdivision shall be such that the vision of vehicular drivers
exiting the subdivision is not impeded. Typically a solid
fence in this area cannot exceed 3 feet in height as measured
from the top back of curb.
If you have any questions don't hesitate to call and thank you for
advising us of your desire to vary from our ordinance requirements.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to 11-9-605 J. 10. of the
Revised and Compiled Ordinances of the City of Meridian, that the
Fence Variance Committee of the City of Meridian will hold a
public hearing at the Meridian City Hall, 33 East Idaho Street,
Meridian, Idaho, at the hour of 4:45 o'clock P .M., on
April 12 , 1993, for the purpose of reviewing and
considering the Application of Vicki Welker. Kastle Falls
Development for a variance from the Meridian Fence Ordinance at
the property legally described as follows: The portion of Valeri
Place Subdivision which fronts on W Cherry Lane as shown on
attached ma '
and known by the address adiacent to Kastle Falls Subdivision
near Linder Road and W. Cherr Lane
The Applicant proposes to increase the maximum allowed fence
height as shown on attached drawings along W. Cherry Lane
The public is welcome. Testimony, objections, and comments
will be heard and considered by the Committee.
A written decision of the Committee will be issued to the
Applicant and any person requesting in writing a copy of the
decision will be furnished one.

Any aggrieved party may appeal the decision of the Committee
directly to the Meridian City Council pursuant to Section 11-2-
416 G. 1.

Petition concerning Kastle Falls Subdivision Back Perimeter Fence
We, the undersigned, homeowners in Glenfield Manor #2, on McGlinchey Street, with homes
backing up to Kastle Falls Subdivision, for one or more of the following reasons, would like to have
the committee reject the proposed fence variance requested in the Fence Variance Notice of Hearing.
1. Owners of existing fences, with boards nailed to the backside of their fence, would find it
impossible to repair or replace existing structures
2. Homeowners in Glenfield Manor #2 (on McGlinchey Street) find this fence design aesthetically
displeasing
3. Privacy would actually be reduced at the lowest point of the scallop design
4. For homeowners with existing fences, weeds will be difficult, if not impossible to control
5. Since the proposed fence does not match any of the existing fences bordering the new Kastle
Falls Subdivision, it could negatively impact the value of the existing homes backing up to Kastle
Falls on McGlinchey

I am a home owner in the Crystal Springs Subdivision. My property abuts the Kastle Palls
Subdivision and would be affected by the proposed increased fencr height. I would like to
voice my objections to the proposed variance to the fence ordinance. The variance will result
in the obstruction of view and loss of aesthetic amenity of my property and therefore could
affect. the resale value.
