The special meeting of the Meridian Planning & Zoning Commission was called to
order by Chairman Jim Johnson at 6:00 P.M.:
Members Present: Moe Alidjani, Tim Hepper, Charlie Rountree, Jim Shearer:
Others Present: Will Berg, Wayne Crookston, Wayne Forrey, Corey Berg, Brandon
Berg:
ITEM #1: SPORTSMAN POINTE SUBDIVISION: REVIEW FILE AND TAKE ACTION
ON ANNEXATION AND PRELIMINARY PLAT:
Johnson: You are all aware of the history of why we are here tonight and what
we need to do. Basically we need to approve the preliminary plat or turn it down
whatever you see fit.
Crookston: Have we got the annexation and zoning off the table? If we haven't
we need to do that.
Johnson: We need to get it off the table because that is where it is sitting.
Crookston: And approve it.
Shearer: Do you we have to do something on the annexation?
Johnson: You people have to bring it off the table.
Shearer: 1 move we take it off the table.
Alidjani: Second
Shearer: Annexation, zoning, new preliminary plat.
Johnson: Its been moved and seconded that we take the annexation, zoning for
this request off the table it was tabled previously, and we need action on the
preliminary plat, and that is all isn't it?
Crookston: I think its appropriate to approve the findings of tact and conclusions
of law that were initially adopted for that portion that was north of the Urban
Service Planning area for that part that was south of the Urban Service Planning
area. Then deal with the plat.
Johnson: Okay, so let's address the findings of fact that we have already had
prepared.

Shearer: I move we adopt and approve these findings of fact and conclusions of
law.
Alidjani: Second
Johnson: Its moved and seconded to adopt and approve the findings of fact and
conclusions of law as prepared, any discussion? All those in favor? Opposed?
MOTION CARRIED: All Yea
Alidjani: Counselor, do we need to have that in the motion that in this particular
findings of fact the north portion of the boundary, is the motion good?
Crookston: Well, just to make sure.
Shearer: Okay, we need to move. I move the Planning & Zoning Commission
hereby recommends to the City Council of the City of Meridian that the property
included in this Urban Service Planning Area as revised that they approve the
annexation and zoning requested by the applicant for the property described in the
application with the conclusions set forth in the findings of fact and conclusions of
law with the ordinance of the City of Meridian that the owner requested to allow
the application.
Rountree: Second
Johnson: Its been moved and seconded to pass a recommendation onto the City
Council as so stated, all those in favor? Opposed?
MOTION CARRIED: All yea
Johnson: Is there any other business?
Crookston: You need to deal with the plat.
Shearer: I move that we recommend approval of the preliminary plat with the
provisions that the lots on the west boundary have a 1600 square foot minimum
and that the rest of the lots can have a 1500 foot minimum.
Johnson: Are you talking about houses instead of lots?
Shearer: Didn't I say that?

Alidjani: I second the motion
Johnson: Its moved and seconded that we approve the preliminary plat with the
provision that the lots to the westerly side boundary have a minimum of 1600
square foot house size and the remainder have a 1500 square foot house size, all
those in favor? Opposed?
MOTION CARRIED: All yea
Johnson: Any other items?
Alidjani: I have one, I should like to say it is a privilege to sit next to the
distinguished citizen of the month.
Shearer: I move we adjourn
Rountree: Second
Johnson: tts moved and seconded that we adjourn the meeting, all those in favor?
Opposed?
MOTION CARRIED: All yea
MEETING ADJOURNED AT 6:08 P.M.

The public is hereby notified that the Meridian Planning & Zoning Commission will
hold a Special Meeting on Monday, March 14, 1994, at 6:00 P.M. at the Meridian
City Hall, Council Chambers, at 33 East Idaho, Meridian, Idaho.
The purpose of this meeting is to take action on the annexation and preliminary plat
for Sportsman Pointe Subdivision.
The public is welcome to attend.

We the undersigne residents of Kachina Estes, which
borders the proposed subdivision to our East, to be known as
Salmon Rapid Subdivision, request consideration by the City
Council of Meridian, of the following:

1. To require a burt~ia high enough to deflect head-light
beams from our view;
2. To fence the top of this burma with chain link fence so as
not to deteriorate or allow children to climb over it;
3. To acknowledge our agricultural settings which allows us
live stock, such as horses, cows, mules, sheep, goats, pigs,
ducks, geese, dogs and cats which are raised for pleasure,
4-H and profit; and
4. As an agricultural subdivision, we also use sprays,
fertilizers and burning to maintain our properties and in
the raising of grass and hay for our livestock, such
machinery as tractors, swathers, balers, etc., are used in
the harvest of these crops at various hours of the day and
