Dear Mr. and Mrs. Newell:
The Meridian City Fence Variance Committee met on May 4, 1992 at
4:30 P.M. in City Hall, in your presence, to discuss your request.
The Committee decided to allow the encroachment of your proposed
fence into the side street set back area under the following
conditions:
1. The length of fence paralleling White Lily Avenue shall be
located 5 feet from back of sidewalk.
2. The 5 foot space between fence and sidewalk shall be
landscaped with shrubs or grass or otherwise maintained- by
you.
3. The northerly length of the fence shall connect to the
southeast corner of your home.
4. Whether or not you fence-in or fence-out the power box near
your southeast lot corner is a matter to be decided by Idaho
Power. We suggest you contact Arden Davis at 888-4491.
5. The "good side" of the fence should face white Lily Avenue.
6. Prior to digging please call "Dig-Line" at 342-1585 for
location of underground utilities.
7. Please obtain a fence building permit at City Hall prior to
beginning construction.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to 11-9-605 J. 10. of the
Revised and Compiled Ordinances of the City of Meridian, that
the Fence Variance Committee of the City of Meridian will hold a
public hearing at the Meridian City Hall, 33 East Idaho Street,
Meridian, Idaho, at the hour of 4:45: o'clock p .m., on
May 4 1992, for the .purpose of reviewing and
considering the Application of Michel & Kelly Newell
for a variance from the Meridian Fence Ordinance at the
property legally described as follows: Lot #4, Block #5
Clarinda Fair Subdivision
and known by the address 1055 West State
The Applicant proposes to Construct 6 Foot Fence
out to the sidewalk along White Lily Avenue (See Drawingl
The public is welcome. Testimony, objections, and comments
will be heard and considered by the Committee.
A written decision of the Committee will be issued to the
Applicant and any person requesting in writing a copy of the
decision will be furnished one.

prohibited on any residential parcel, except where required by
the Grantor or a public agency to seesre utility sites, iriga-
tion or drainage facilities or ot.'~er public use as deemed neces-
sary, or when required to seczre and screen the recreat_on
