Dear Mr. Francis:
Pursuant to the Notice of Hearing for this variance request
given on June 11, 1990, the City Fence Variance Committee met
yesterday, July 2, 1990 in your presence at Meridian City
Hall.
After discussion of your proposal it was decided by the Ferice
Committee to not allow your variance request. The reasons
for our denial were primarily based on the close proximity of
the driveway to the east of your lot and the line of sight we
feel necessary for the safety of vehicles entering Willowbrook
Dr. (a collector) from Cree}:view Dr.
We appreciate your coming to the City to request this variance
from our fence ordinance. If you wish, you may appeal the
decision of the Committee directly to the Meridian City Council
pursuant to Section 11-1-416 G.1.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to 11-9-605 J. 10. of the
Revised and Compiled Ordinances of the City of Meridian, that
the Fence Variance Committee of the City of Meridian will hold a
public hearing at the Meridian City Hall, 33 East Idaho Street,
Meridian, Idaho, at the hour of 4.30 o'clock ~.m., on
July 2 1990, for the purpose of reviewing and
considering the Application of Charles & Jodv Francis
for a variance from the Meridian Fence Ordinance at the

(1) FENCES - HEDGES: No fenc¢, hedge ~or boundary wall situated anywhere
upon any building site shall have a height greater than that allov.~ed by the local
controlling ordinance, but in no event shall it be greater .than six (6) feet in height
above the finished graded surface or the ground upon which such fence, hedge, or
..wall is situated. No fence, wall, hedge, or shrub planting which obstructs sight lines
at elevations between four (4) and eight (8) feet above the roadways shall be placed
or permitted to rel-nain on any corner lot vrithin the triangular area formed by the
street property lines and ~ line connecting thin: at points. twenty (20) feet from the
intersection of the street property lines extended. The same sight-line limitations
shall a;,ply on any lot within ten (10) feet from the intersection of a street property
line v,-ithin the edge of a .driveway or alley pavement. 1Jo tree shall be permitted to
remain V~ithin such distances or such intersections unless the foliage line is
