Meridian Planning and Zoning
Planning and Zoning Commission meeting called to order by Chairman Willard Rowley
Members present: Annette Hinrichs; Don Sharp; Jim Kling; Lee Mitchell; Burl Pipkin, absent
Others present: Ray Hamilton; Art Collins.
Mr. Hamilton stated that in order to formulate a policy there must be a plan. He presented
a graphic chart of the population and land densities within the City and within the pro-
posed Impact Area. The drawings presented are not complete but are a changing process
and thus are not a matter of record.
There was much discussion and planning in relation to these maps and charts and much
progress was made in understanding the problems and need for good planning as well as
the need to avoid the problem of zoning that would place immediate price tags on land.
Mr. Hamilton explained that these maps or concept are not finalized. They will be used
as the basis for an on-zoina study.

There was considerable discussion concerning densities and available
land area.
The larger the land area involving developed density increases the possible
population.
Don Sharp stated that he was in favor of the type of Green Belt Lineal Parks and
also favored connector bike and pedestrian paths.
The Commission is to make their views known concerning this type of develop-
ment represented in the population graphic charts.
