Minutes of the previous meeting held September 19, 1983 were approved as written.

1 PUBLIC HEARING: Variance Request by Wilma Blair to Construct Fence

~~ ~~ Mrs. Blair was present to represent her request of variance to construct a 6 foot
fence. Blair told the Council that the fence would be constructed of decorative
brick. Blair said that all of her neighbors within 300 feet had signed the petition
allowing the fence except for one.
Councilman Kingsford opened the Public Hearing for any comments pro or con to the
proposal.
There was no response.

Kingsford: "Being there no response, I will now close the Public Hearing.
Water Supt Bruce Stuart commented that the Blair can not fence the water meter in,
and that 2 feet all around the meter must be left free.
City Engineer, Gary Smith commented that he felt the fence would be very restricti
of vision, and that a person would not be able "to see through at all."
There was discussion.
Blair said that it would not be feasiable to move the fence back any further.
The Motion was made by Orton and seconded by Tolsma that the variance request for

City Clerk, Jack Niemann submitted a list of proposed Judges and Election Clerks
for approval by the Council.
Kingsford read the proposed Judges and Clerks: "First Precinct: Judge; Leona Eg
Clerks; Monta Watts, Phyllis Musgrove, Gertrude Berglund, Edith Crockett; 2nd Pre
Judge; June Pack, Clerk; Maxine Lindstrom, Judy Johnson, Eloise Stemple, Darlene
Rundle."
The Motion was made by Tolsma and seconded by Orton to approve of the list of
Judges and Election Clerks as submitted by the City Clerk.

City of Me ridian and the laws of the State of Idaho, that a hearing

2. West Second Street is fully improved with curb, gutter, and
sidewalk and has a 60' right-of-way which is adequate.
3, Beginning of fence is located approximately 30' from corner of
Cherry Avenue and West Second Street.
