I have previously submitted to the Meridian Planning
and Zoning Commission a proposed plat commonly known as
Timothy Subdivision. The petition for approval of this
subdivision has been denied. Therefore, pursuant to
9-605 of the Ordinances of the City of Meridian, I hereby
petition the Mayor and Council of the City of Meri.di.an
L-or a hearing to review the action of the Planning and Zoning
Commission.

Wo have received the plans for the t.ortlxgate No. 1 Subdivision which
ie proposed to be located at deridian, Idat:o, and would make the
following comments:
It is noted that in several places the sewer line is to cross over the
water mains. It is nor~!ally recuired tixat the seater and serer mains Le
acparnted a vertical distance of lii incises at the crossings. In
instances xJUere this is imposstbic and the sewer line must cross over
Che water main, special construction p~ust he employed. We will, therefore,
need to 'r.now tixe type of construction tiint is proposed for these
crossings so tlxat ~JC will be able Co determine if ti:cy meet State
requirements.
We will also Head to receive a set of specifications for the construction
of the x:acer aa:i sewer l±nes. 'Tire spucifications should cover leakage
tenting requirementu f.or tl:e mains.
It 1n noted that the proposed sewer system la to be connected to the
;lcridian se:aerage system. It is our <understarding that the 'Meridian
sewage tzeatment plant is presently nt capacity, and tP~st in the
summertime quantities of sewage must be by-passed because of
infiltration into ti>e aecaer system. This situation cannot be allowed to
continue much longer, aud, therefore, before ~.re can approve any major
nc: discharges to the Meridian sewer system, we musk receive from tine
City some indication that they have yuffi.cient capacity to handle the new
sewage load.
It ie necessary that they initiate necessnry planning for plant expansion
to handle the increased lording from [he development that is taking place
in the area.
We will continue our review of t}xe plans for this protect upon clarification
of the above.
