JuT ZZ, 1974
City of Meridian Idaho
Honorable Mayor, Don Storey, and City Councill
Today we recieved in the mail a letter from J.U.B. Engineers. Said letter
being a very shocking piece ^f news. T^ begin with please consider the fallowing
facts which we feel certain that you and the City Cnuncil are unaware ^f, that
number one, our company negotiated with Mr. Owen Frost, a licsensed Real Estate
Broker, far aver two years on the negotiation and purchase of the land then owned
by Mr. Owen Frcet, which is today known as Meadow View Subdivision number 1,
Through these years of negotiation and purchase and including after Mr. Owen
Frost revieved his full cash amount which was agreed upon far the sale and purchas
has h1r, Owen Frost ^r our company ever mentioned any lot he given back to Mr. Owen
Frost at any price or even free. In fact Mr. Owen Frost called our office here in
Boise, Idaho and asked special consideration towards the purchase of several lots
which harder on Mr. Owen Frost's remaining property. Mr. Owen Frost specifically
asked us to sell him one of the lpts at the rear ^f the property bordering t^ his
property, and he Owen Frost Further asked us to sell him one or more lots of ours
bordering to his property and fronting ^n Linder Road, and further stated that he,
Owen Frost, wanted to purchase these lots t^ protect his view and keep his feeling
of openness. Our Co, told Owen Frost, which we have every intention of keeping our
word, that we would give Mr. Frost first choice to the lots that Mr, Frost specifically
asked to buy, but Mr. Frost would have to pay the same price as anyone else would
have to pay. This conversation took place on or about the middle of May 1974, A
couple of days latter L, Stan McDonald, went t^ Mr. Owen Frost's office in feridian,
Idaho, and Mr. Frost and Q further discussed the property owned by my company, which
my ~ompany bought and paid far in cash to h1r. Owen Frost.
To be more specific, Owen Frost desired to buy back one ar more lots at the rear
of the property and one or more lots bordering the Frost property and Linder Road.
Owen Frost stated to me, he wanted t^ buy and would buy these lots from my Company,
but he, Owen Frost, wanted to wait till latter and further he nai,i knebi the nr;.na of
the lots and would contact me latter if he wanted them.
qe have gone to J.U.B. Engineers Inc, and have definetly datsrnan~-~ ';.;- a is
not essential for Owen Frost to have one of our lots because the Frost property that
remains is of sufficient size t^ be an independent subdivision.
For Mr. Owen Frost to sit ^n the Planning Commision has, perhaps, used same ^f
hie influence to said planning commisinn and, perhaps, the City Council, and to have
a Commision meeting, meeting that i,~ould that would very geeatly benefit one of the
commisioners, to the determent ^f our Company, without even giving our Company any
notification to thehalding of any meetinginvolving our Company and further, to give
notice at this time that unless their wishes were accomplished, the City of Meridian
should consider hold up of the final acceptance, is indeed, very shocking!
We hereby ask you if you would like to 6e treated like this, after the City of
Meridian, did at the final signing and acceptance ^f the recorded plat, say nothing
about any lot being given as access 6ardering the Frost property, but did require an
access to the PJorth ^n other property, when we complete our second division, known as
Meadow View Subdivision number 2.
Respectively yours,
N.A (~. Znp.
