APPROVED SPECIAL • SE~BER 24, 1984 Special Meeting of Meridian City Council called to order by Mayor Grant Kingsford at 7:30 P.M. Council Members Present: Bill Brewer, Ron Tolsma, Bob Giesler Council Members Absent: Bert Myers Others Present: Ray & Rosemary Campbell, Chris Campbell, Bruce Stuart, Mary Kay Cope, Donna Aldrich, Norma Aldrich, Yudy Smith, Ernestine Hummel, Etta Sherrill, Fern Thomas, Joan Blunk, Colleen Calhoun, Robert Davis, Doug Nichols, Kenny Bowers, Bill Barkell, Bill Earll, Gary Schaffer, Moe Alidjani, Bob Spencer, Steve Gratton, Wayne Crookston, John Matunas Item #1. Public Hearing, Preliminary and Final Plat of PUD-Commercial and request for Conditional Use Permits by High Country of Idaho, Inc. Mr. Bill Earll was present to represent High Country of Idaho, Inc. Mayor Kingsford asked if there were any questions of the Council? There was no response. Mayor Kingsford opened the meeting for Public Hearing There was no response. Public Hearing was closed. Mayor Kingsford, Mr. Earll is there a withdrawal of the request for a livestock facility? Mr. Earll, Yes, we are no longer requesting the livestock facility as the plans have changed. Councilman Tolsma, Mr. Earll do you have any problems with the recommend- ations of Ada County Highway District? Mr. Earll, We have no problems with these recommendations and JUB Engineers are designing the project to meet these recommendations. The Motion was made by Tolsma and seconded by Giesler to adopt the Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law as prepared for the Planning and Zoning Commission with the exclusion of the livestock facility. Motion Carried: All Yea The Motion was made by Brewer and seconded by Tolsma to approve the Preliminary and Final Plat and the Conditonal Use Permits for a PUD- Commercial with a motel, restaurant and lounge for High Country of Idaho, Inc. with the recommendations of Ada County Highway District, all Depart- ment Heads and the City Engineer. Motion Carried: All Yea Item # 2: Public Hearing, Request for a Re2one by John Matunas and Bedelco, Inc. from R-4 to Limited Office. Mr. John Matunas was present to represent this request. Mayor Kingsford opened the meeting for Public Hearing. There was no response. Public Hearing was closed. Councilman Giesler,Ada County Highway comments about Cherry Lane to be widened, when is this scheduled? Gary Smith, City Engineer, This is scheduled for 1985 budget year, also there should be a signal light installed at the intersection of NW 8th and Cherry Lane when this project is done. Theirs was discussion that ingress .and egress should be on NW 8th rather than Cherry Lane. Giesler, if entrance on Cherry Lane what will stop motorists from cutting though property. Smith, if landscaping is done correctly it should solve the problem. Mr. Matunas stated the building would be 4 to 5,000 square feet with a design similar to the building on North Linder across from the Meridian High School. The Motion was made by Giesler and seconded by Brewer to adopt the Find- ings of Fact and Conclusions of Law as prepared for the Planning and Zoning Commission on the rezone request to Limited Office by John Matunas and Bedelco, Inc. Motion Carried: All Yea The Motion was made by Tolsma and seconded by Giesler to approve the rezone to Limited Office request by John Matunas and Bedelco, Inc., with the stipulations as stated in the Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law and that .the City of Meridian will have Design Review before the project is constructed. Motion Carried: All Yea Tape of these proceedings on file at City Clerk's Office. As this was a Special Meeting and no other business is allowed to come before the Council, the Motion was made by Brewer and seconded by Tolsma to adjourn at 7:45 P.M. Motion Carried; All Yea. APP~R~OVED~: ~~"~ ANT KINGSF D, OR NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a special meeting of the City Council of .the City of Meridian will be held on the 24th day of September, 1984 at 7:30 o'clock p.m., at the City Hall of the City of Deridian, 728 Meridian Street, Meridian, Idaho; that the purpose of the meeting is to review and consider matters pertaining to the application of High Country of Idaho, Inc., for preliminary and final plat of PUD - Commercial and a Conditional Use Permit, and the application of John C. Matunas, D.D.S., and Bedelco, Inc., for a rezone. See Notice o£ Public Hearing on these matters running in this issue. The public is welcome to attend this special meeting and testimony, both written and oral, will be received and considered.
