BY THE CITY COUNCIL: BIRD, BORTON, ROUNTREE, ZAREMBA
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MERIDIAN, IDAHO, SETTING FORTH CERTAIN FINDINGS AND PURPOSES
TO DECLARE SURPLUS PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF
THE CITY OF MERIDIAN TO DONATE COMPUTER EQUIPMENT TO THE
BIG BROTHERS/BIG SISTERS OF SOUTHWEST IDAHO
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Meridian to declare that
certain computer equipment listed in "Exhibit A" hereto is surplus property, as these
particular items are no longer needed or used by the City of Meridian.
WHEREAS, the City of Meridian's purchasing policy allows surplus City
property to be donated to charitable organizations when the value of the property in
question is of nominal value, that is, valued at less than the cost of disposing of the
property.
WHEREAS, the cost of maintaining the computer equipment listed herein below
until it were sold, if it could be sold, exceeds its value to the City of Meridian and would
result in the unnecessary expenditure of City funds.
WHEREAS, the City of Meridian desires to donate the computer equipment
listed herein below to the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Southwest Idaho, anon-profit
charitable organization exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the
Internal Revenue Code, the stated mission of which is to inspire and enable young
people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential
as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, IDAHO, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Mayor and City Council hereby authorize and declare that
the computer equipment listed in "Exhibit A" hereto is surplus property.
Section 2. That the Mayor and City Council hereby authorize the conveyance
of the computer equipment listed hereinabove, for no monetary consideration, to the Big
Brothers/Big Sisters of Southwest Idaho.
