479 Salaries of Elective Officers43 provide for new election precinct boundaries. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY,' IDAHO: SECTION 1: That Section 1-501, PRECINCTS, is hereby repealed. SECTION 2: That Section 1-501, PRECINCTS, is hereby re-enacted and which shall read as follows: 1-501: CITY DIVIDED INTO TWO PRECINCTS. The territory embraced within the corporate limits of the city be, and the same is hereby divided into two (2) election precincts. The boundaries of the same shall be as set forth beloia, respectively; FIRST PREC.IN:CT BOUNDARIES: All territory within the corporate limits of the City, or hereafter 'annexed, lying south of Cherry Lane and Fairview Avenue and east of Linder Road shall constitute, and is hereby declared to be, Precinct Number One. SECOND PRECINCT BOUNDARIES: All territory within the corporate limits of the City, or hereafter annexed, lying north of Cherry. Lane .and Fairview Avenue and west of Linder Road shall constitute, and is hereby declared to be, Precinct Number Two. ' SECTION 3: EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council and the Mayor o;f~ the City of 44 Meridian, Idaho, have concluded that it is in the best interest of said City to repeal Sections 1-1101 and 1-1102, Title 1, Chapter 11, of the Revised and Compiled Ordinances of the City of Meridian, and to re-enact said sections changing the salaries of the Mayor and of the City Council members and to delete the provisions in Section 1-1102 relating to the Police Judge, all of which changes shall be effective January 1, 1988. The Salary of each member of the council shall be $300.00 per month payable monthly. The salary of the President of the council, when acting in the capacity of the Mayor, shall be the same~as the Mayor, payable monthly pro-rated for the period of time he shall perform the duties of Mayor. Section 3. That Section 1-110.2 is hereby re-enacted and shall read as follows: 1-1102: SALARIES OF APPOINTIVE OFFICERS: The salaries of appointive officers shall be set and fixed by the Mayor and Council and shall be .paid.mont•hly. - , ..
