ORDINANCE AMENDING TITL,E 2, CHAPTER 1, OF THE REVISED AND COMPILED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ENTITLED BUILDING CODE, BY REPEALING SECTION 2-101 ENTITLED ADOPTION OF BUILDING CODE AND ADOPTING A NEW SECTION 2-101 ENTITLED ADOPTION OF THE ;~ UNIFORM BUILDING CODE AND THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE BOOR OF + , ~ .I:' .; STANDARDS. ~ :., ~ WHEREAS, the City Council and the Mayor of the City of ~ v~Meridian have concluded that it is in the ,best interest of said City,.to amend Title 2, Chapter 1, Section 2-101 by repealing the ' , 'present Section 2-101 and adopting a new ,Section 2-101 to be entitled Adoption of the Uniform Building Code and the Uniform Building Code Book of Standards. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINEp BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERiDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAH.Oz Section 1..~That Title 2, Chapter 1, shall be amended by the repeal of Section 2-101 thereof and the adoption of a new Section 2-101 to be entitled ADOPTION OF THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE AND TAE UNIFORM BUILDI'NG CODE BOOK OF STANDARDS and to read~ as follows: 2-101 ADOPTION OF THE UNIFORM BUIL'DING CODE AND THE UNIFORM ~ BUILDING CODE BOOK DF STANDARDS: There is hereby •' ~ .; adopted`by the City of Meridian for the purposes of establishing ~ . • ~~ rules,~and regulat.ions for the constru~ction, alteration, removal, f ' ~ . ~ demolition, equipment, use and occupancy, location and ' ma,intenan..ce ,of buildings and structuxes; including permits and penalties, that ce.rtain building code known as the UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1985 EDITION, of which not less than three copies have been and now are filed in the Office of the Clerk of the City of Meridian, and the same are, hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, and from the date on which this Ordin;ance shall take effect, the provisions thereof sha11 be cont~rolling over the construction of all buildings and other structures therein contained within the corporate limits of the City. There is also hereby adopted the . WHEREAS, the City Council and the Mayor of the City of Meridian have concluded that it is in the best interest of said City to amend Title 2, Chapter 10, Section 2-1001 (A), FIRE CODES, ADOPTION OF FIRE CODES. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO: Section 1.
