AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTIONS 2-916 AND 2-917, TITLE 2, CHAPTER
9, GAS INSTALLATION AND PIPING, REVISED AND COMPILED ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, AND RE-ENACTING THE SAID
SECTIONS 2-916 AND 20917, TITLEc2,CHAPTER 9, TO READ AS SET FORTH
HEREIN, AND TO BE EFFECTIVE UPON APPROVAL HEREOF.
WHEREAS, the City and the Mayor of Meriidan, Id~hp have
Cdncluded that it is in best interest if the City to repeal
Sections 2-916 and 2-917, Title 2, Chapter~9, Gas Installation
and Piping bf the Revised and Compiled Ordinances of the City of
Meriidan, Adad County and to re-enact said sections which shall
read as hereinafter set forth, and which enactment shall be, __,
effective upon approval hereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF
MERIDIAN, arid the CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY,
IDAHO,
Section 1. That sections 2-916 and 2-917 of Title 2, Chapter
9, Gas Installation and Piping are hereby repealed.
Section 2. That the following shall be enacted as Sections
2-916 and 2-917, Title 2, Chapter 9, Gas Installation and Piping,
and shall read as follows:

LICENSE FEES: Before any license is issuerl the app~~
licant shall ~ay to the City Clerk a license fee in
accordnace with the following schedule:

Journeyman Gas Fitter
Apprentice Gas Fitter

certificate of competency or other acceptabl~ identification
as shall be required for a Gas Fitting Contractor, Journey-
man Gas Fitter, or Apprentice, the City Clerk shall issue
a License Certificate, indicating clearly thereon the name
of the holder, classification and year for which it is valid.
2-917: EXPIRATION AND RENEWAL OF LICENSES: All licenses
shall expire upon and shall be renewed not later than December
31, of each year.
SECTION 3. WHEREAS, there is an emergancy therefore,
aibh emergancy is declared to exist, this ordinance shall
take effect from and after its passage, approval and pUb-
lication as required by law.
PASSED by the City Council and approved by the Mayor of
the City of Meridian, Ada County, Idaho, this 15th day of

WHEREAS, Section 67-6526 (a) Idaho Code provides that said ordinances
adopting an Area of Impact should have been passed atd approved at least
by January 1, 1978, atd that if it has not been adopted by said date Sec-
tion 67-6526 (b), Idaho Code, provides that a committee of nine persons
should be appointed by the City Council and the County Commissioners to make
a recomendation to the Council and to the Commissioners what the Area if
Impact should be;
WHEREAS, said committee was appointed atd did meet atd has made a
recommendation ta the City Council of the City of Meridian and to the '"
county Commissioners of the County of Ada;
WHEREAS, the recommendations by the committee
and its boundary is reasonable and meets the goals
Local Planning Act of 1975;
WHEREAS, the City Council has conducted Public Hearings on the Area
of Impact atd has approved atd adopted Findings of Fact atd Conclusions
regarding the Area of Impact is a legislative function required by the
Local Planning Act of 1975i and
WHEREAS, the City Council atd the Mayor of the City of Meridian,
Idaho, have concluded that it is in the best interest of the City to
approve and adopt the Area of Impact as recommended by the Committee
a9d such to be effective upon approval hereof,
NOW THEREFOR, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN,
AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA CAUNTY, idaho,
Section 1.0 AREA OF CITY IMPACT DESIGNATED--The Meridian Area
~of City Impact is the area designated on the attached map and in-
corporated herein by reference.
Section 2.0 PROPERTY DIVIDED BY THE BOUNDARY--In case a pro-
perty under single ownership is divided by the boundary line of the
Meridian Area of Impact and the line divides the property so that
one or both of the parts has a depth of 300 feet or less, such part may
be included in the jurisdiction within which the remainder and larger
port'on of the property is located.
Section 3.0 RENEGOTIATION--
Section 3.1 In accordance with Idaho Code 67-6526 (d), the
Meridian City Councilor the Board of Ada County Commissioners may request,
in writing, to renegotiat any provision of this ordinance at any time.
Within 30 days of receipt of such written request by either party, a meeting
between the two jurisdictions shall occur.
Section 3.2 While renegotiation is occuring, ai; provisions of this
ordianance is amended or a substitute ordinance is adopted by Meridian
and Ada County , in accordance with the notice and hearing procedures
provided in Title 67, Chapter 65 of Idaho Code, or until a declaratroy
judgment from the district court if final. Provided, however, that this
ordinance or stipulated portions thereof shall be of no further force and
effect if both jurisdict'ons so agree mutually adopted resolution.
Section 4.0 SEVERANCE--Should any section, clause or a provision
of this ordinance be declared invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction,
~he same shall not affect the validity of this ordinance as a whole or
any aprt thereof, other than the part so declared to be invalid, each section,
clause and provision hereof being declared severable.
Section 5.0 WHEREAS, there is an emergancy therefore, which emergancy
is declared to exist, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as required by
law.

WHEREAS, Section 67-6526 (a) , of Title 67, Chapter 65,
Idaho Code, known as the Local Planning Act 1975, requires
that the City Council of the City of Meridian, Idaho and the
County Commissioners of Ada County, Idaho adopt, by ordin-
ance, a map identifying an area of City Impact within the
unincorporated areaof Ada County;
WHEREAS, Section 67-6526 (a), Idaho Code provides that
said ordinances adopting an Area of Impact should have been
