AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 8, CHAPTER 16, OF THE REVISED AND COMPLIED
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ENTITLED POLICE REGULATIONS, MIS-
DEMEANORS, BY ADOPTING A NEW SECTION 8-1637, TO BE ENTITLED POSSESSIUN
OF CIGARETTES OR T.oBflJCCO BY MINORS; SALE OF CIGARETTES OR Tal~CCO TO
MINORS.
WHEREAS, the City Council and the Mayor of the City of Meridian
have concluded that it is in the best interest of said City to Amend
Title 8, Chapter 16, Section 8-1637,

NOW, THEREFORE"} BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO,
Section 1: That title 8, Chapter 16, Section8-1637 shall be and
the same hereby is amended by the adoption of a new Section 8-1637, to
be entitled Possession of Cigarettes or Tobacco By Minors; Sale of Cig-
arettes or Tobacco to Minors and to read as follows;

POSSESSION OF CIGARETTES OR ToBACCO BY MINORS; SALE OF
CIGARETTES OR TdBACCO TO MINORS;
(A)
It shall be unlawful for any person under the age of eighteen
(18) years to buy, accept or have in his possession any cigarette,
cigar, or tobacco in any form, or to buy, accept or have in his
possession any cigarrette paper or other paper or wrapper intened
for the wrapping of tobacco into the form of a cigarette;
It shall be unlawful for any person to sell or give away, directly
or indirectly, to any person under the age of eighteen (18) years
any cigarette, cigar or tobacco in any form or to sell or give away,
directly'ar indirectly, to any person under the age of eighteen (18)
- "years any cigarette paper or other paper or wrapper intended for the
wrapping of tobacco into the form of a cigarette.
PASSED by the City Council and approved by the Mayor of the City of
Meridian, Ada County, Idaho, this 19th day of October, 1981
