ORDINANCE NO. 399
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 7, CHAPTER 5, OF THE REVISED AND COMPILED ORDINANCES
OR THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ENTITLED HEALTH AND SANITATION, SEWER USE, BY THE
REVISION OF SUB-PARAGRAPHS (A) and (B) OF SECTION 7-533, ENTITLED SEWER USER
CHARGES AND CONNECTION FEES, REFLECTING A NINE PERCENT (9%) INCREASE IN SEWER
USER CHARGES EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1,1981.
WHEREAS, the City Council and the Mayor of the City of Meridian have concluded
that it is in the best interest of said City to amend TITLE &, CHAPTER 5, specifically
by the revision of sub-paragraphs (A) and (B) of Section 7-533, entitled Sewer
User Charges and Connection Fees, to reflect an increase in sewer user rates of nine
percent (9%) effective October 1, 1981.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO:
Section 1. That Title 7, Chapter 5, Health and Sanitation, Sewer Use,
be and the same hereby is amended by the revision of sub-paragraphs (A) and (B)
of Section 7-533, entitled Sewer User Charges and Connection Fees, to reflect a
nine percent (9%) increase in sewer user charges, effective October 1, 1981,
which sub-paragraphs (A) and (B) shall read as follows:
(A) The minimum sewer user charge shall be four dollars eighty cents ($4.80)
per month, based on a use of four thousand (4,000) gallons.
(B) The char~e, for use in escess of four thousand (4,000) gallons per month,
shall be the min;rrum amount of four dollars and eighty cents ($4.80)
plus an additional charge of one dollars twenty cents ($1.20) per one
thousand (1,000) gallons or portion therof above the four thousand (4,000)
gall on mi nimum.
Section 2. WHEREAS, there ;s an emergency therfore,which emergency is declared
to exist, this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its
passage, approval and publication as required by law.
PASSED By the City Council and approved by the Mayor of the City of Meridian,
Ada County, Idaho, this 5th day of October, 1981.
