ORDINANCE NO. 369
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE VII, CHAPTER 1, ENTITLED RESTAURANT LICENSE rEES
OF THE REVISED AND COMPILED ORDNINCES OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO,
BY ADDING THERETO A NEW SECTION 7-104 ENTITLED "LICENSE FEES FOR EATING AND DRINKING
ESTABLISHMENTS. "
WHEREAS, the City Council and the Mayor of the City of Meridian, Idaho have
concluded that it is in the best interest of said city to amen Title VII, Chapter
1, by adding thereto a new Section 7-104, License Fees for Eating and Drinking
Establishments; and
WHEREAS. the city has a contract with the Central District Health Department
(COHO) whereby COHO inspects the restaurants and eating and drinking establishments
of the city and the city pays COHO for that service; and
WHEREAS, the COHO prepares licenses for the establishments and the city issues
them, there is a need to cover the cost of the COHO charge to the city for such
inspections and to cover the cost of issuing the licenses; and
WHEREAS, the fees set forth hereinbelow will cover such above referenced costs
to the city,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO,
Section 1. That Section 7-104 is hereby enacted to read as follows:
7-104 LICENSE FEES FOR EATING AND DRINKING ESTABLISHt1ENTS: The cost of inspection
of eating and drinking establishments is directly related to the size of
the establishment and the seating capacity; therefore, each eating and drinking
establishment shall pay a license fee as set forth below as it relates to the number of
seats in the particular establishment:
0-75 seats . . . . . . . . .
75 seats or more . . . . . .
$30.00 per year
$60.00 per year
Further, that said license fee shall be paid to the city clerk of the City of Meridian,
who, upon receipt of said sum, shall issue the establishment a license; provided,
the Central District Health Department has approved such license.
Section 2. Whereas, there is an emergency therefor, which emergency is hereby
declared to exist, this ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its
passage. approval and publication as required by law.
