ORDINANCE NO. 357
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 1, OF THE REVISED AND COMPILED
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, BY THE REPEAL OF SECTION lO-1~8, AND THE
ENACTMENT OF A REPLACEMENT THEREOF.
WHEREAS, The City Council and the Mayor of the City of Meridian, have
concluded that it is in the best interest of said City to amend Title 10,
Chapter 1, Section 10-118.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO:
Section 1. That Section 10-118 is hereby repealed.
Section 2. That Section 10-118 is hereby replaced by the addition of the
following section:
10-118: RUNNING ENGINES IN UNATTENDED PARKED CARS PROHIBITED, SET BRAKES: No
person having control or charge of a vehicle, shall allow such vehicle to stand
on any street or highway unattended without stopping the engine of said vehicle
and affectively setting the brakes thereon, or devices to prevent the vehicle
from roll ing.
Section 3. WHEREAS, there i~ an emercency therefor, ~hich emergency is
declared to exist, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after
its passage, approval and publication as required by law.
PASSED by the City Council and approved by the Mayor of the City of-Meridian,
Ada County, Idaho, this 17th day of December, 1979.
