ORDINANCE NO. 280
AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING THE METHOD AND PROCEDURE FOR ZONING OF
PROPERTY NOT ZONED AT THE TIME Of ANNEXATION, OR FQR THE REZONING
OF ANY PROPERTY" WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS Of MER ID:J:AN , ADA COUNTY, IDAHO.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO:
Section 1.. In the event that the City COIUlcil shall determine
that a piece of property has not been zoned at the time of alUlexatioa
or that_the particular zoning presently applicable to the property
should be - Changed, the folloWing procedure shall be followed to accomplish
the zoning or zone change, whichever the case may be:
a. A written petition shall be submitted to the CityCouacll
requesting said"zoning or zone change, setting forth the reasons
tor said ohange.
b. In the event the City Council determines that such a change
is appropriate, they shall instruct the City Clerk and City
Attor..y to cause to be published in the official City newspaper
of record, on two separete publications, a notice of the proposed
zoning or zone change. Said notice shall set forth the property
involved, the zoning to take place and the time, place and date
that the hearing is-to be beld.
c. That at the. tim" place and date.of;hearin~, a public hearing
shall be held in regard to the zoning or rezoning and the City
Council.shall take the action which they deem appropriate..
Settion 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and-effect trom
and after its passage, approval'and publication as required by law..
Passed by the City Council and approved by the Mayor of the City
of Meridian, Ada County, Idaho, this 7th day of April, 1975.
