ORDINANCE NO. 249
AN ORDINANCE MAKING IT UNLAWFUL FOR ANY VEHICLE TO BE OPERATED
WITH SMOKING EXHAUSTS, SIRENS, E'l'C.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF 'T'HF. CTTY
OF MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO: -
Section 1. No vehicle shall be operated with an excessive
smoking exhaust upon any road, street or highway within the limits
of this City. Gongs and sirens or whistles shall not be used on
any vehicle other than ambulances, or vehicles operated by a police
department, fire department, sheriff, or other peace officer, or
upon any such vehicle except when moving in response to emergency
calls.

Section 2. In the event any part of this Ordinance conflicts
with any existing Ordinance of the City of Meridian, this Ordinance
shall be deemed as prevailing and the Ordinance it is in conflict
with is deemed repealed.
Section 3. WHEREAS, there is an emergency therefor, which
emergency is declared to exist, this Ordinance shall take effect
and be in force from and after its passage, approval and publi-
cation as required by law.
