2':101: ADOPl'ION OF BUILDING CODE: There is hereby adopted by the City for the purpose
of establishing rules and regulations for the construction, altera.tion remove.l, demo-
lition, equipment, use and occupancy, locat'ion and maintenance of builChngs::::aild structure,
including permits and penalties, that certain building code known as the Uniform Building
Code 1970 Edition, Volume I, of which not less than three (3) copies have been end now
are filed in. the office of the Clerk ~nd the =Same are hereby adopted and incorporated
as fully as ~f set out at length hereJ.n, and from the date on which this Chapter shall
take effect, the provisions thereof shall be controlling the construction of all
buildings and other structures therein contained within the corporate limits of the City.
Sections 2-102 and 2-103 are hez:eby deleted.

first securing a buildi~ permit from the City Council and any person desiring to obta.in
such pemit shall file wJ.th the City Clerk, addressed to the City Council, a. petition
d.ascribing fully the building alid premises whereon such construction is froposed, the
materials to be used and specification thereof. A fee shall be charged or every permit
issued under this Chapter in accordance with the following schedule:
$50.00 to and including $250.00 $2.50
$250.00 to and inoluding 3500.00 5.00
8501.00 to arill including $2,000.00. $5.00 for first $500.00 plUB $1.00 for

The City InsIBctor sha.ll have the right to enter on the premises where any building is
being oonstructed for the purpose of inspecting the same to ascertain that it is in
conformance with the Uniform Building Code as set forth in 2-101.

2-106: PBffiilIT AND INS:EE CTION REQUIREMENTS FOlIl MOBILE HOMES, TRAILER HOUSES OR
PREFABRICATED HOMES: Any mobile home, trailer house or any structure or building or
any prefabricated structures oonstruoted prior to moving in or placement on any lot
or parcel wi thin the City of Meridian shall be considered as a structure requiring
a building permit and inspection will be required, for a minimum fee of $5.00.
2-107: VALIDITY: The invalidity of any Section or provisions of this Chapter or of
the Code hereby adopted shall not invalidate other Sections or provisions thereof.
2-108: PENALTY: Any person violating the provisions of this Chapter shall be deemed
guilty of a misdeme~nor.
WEEREAS, there is an emergency therefore, whioh emergency is declared to exist,
this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage, approval
and publication as required by law.
