2-904: GAS INSTALLATION IN BUILDINGS: The National Fire Protection Association Th,mphlet
54, printed in book form is a set of rules and regulations and maintenance of gas piping
and gas appliances in buildings, and said National Fire Protection Association Pamphlet
43 entitled Gas Appliances Gas Piping 1969 edition, being of a general and perma,nent
character, as shown by one (1) copy thereof now on file in the office of the City Clerk
of Meridian, is hereby ratified and adopted as regulations of Meridie.n, and Pirt of this
Chapter as regulating gas piping and gas appliances in buildings.
2-908: PERHIT FEE: The applicant shall pay to ~Ieridia.n for each permit issued, at the
time of issuance, a permit fee of one dollar ($1.00) plus an inspection fee in accordrnce
wi th the following schedule:

For each installed Gas Fired Incinerator

For each installed Refrit,rerator using gas fuel
For each installed Gas Fired Duct Furnace
For each installed Gas Plate or Laundry stove
For each installed Gas Fired Clothes Dryer
For each installed Hotel or'Restaurant Range or Unit
Broiler
For each installed Hotel or Restaurant Deep Fat Fryer
For each installed Hotel or Restaurant Gas Bake or
Roast Oven
For each ApI1liance or piece of equipment regulated by
the Code not listed
2-916: LICENSE FEES: Before any License is issued the applicant
Clerk a license fee in accordance with the following schedulE:
Gas Fitting Contractor $25.00
Journeyman Gas Fitter 5.00
Apprentice Gas Fitter NO FEE
Upon payment of the above fee and presentation Of a valid certificate of Competency or
other acceptable identification as shall be required for a Gas Fitting Contra.ctor,
Journeyman Gas Fitter, o.r Apprentice, the City Clerk shall iSBue a License Certif~cat~ 1
indicating clearly thereon the name of the holder, classification and year for wh1ch 1"{;
is valid.

2-917: EXPIRATION AND BENEWA L OF LICENSES: Gas Fitter licenses shall expire on
December 31 of each year unless sooner revoked and shall be renewed not later than the
following January 15th upon payment of ten dollars ($10.00) for Gas Fitting Contractor
and three dollars ($3.00) for Journeyman Gas Fitter. In the event a license is not
renewed by January 15th, then the renewal rate shall be the same as the cost of a
regular license. .
2-932: lJiETER HEIGHT: No meter shall be placed at a height greater than reasonable
access and in no case shall said meter be more than seven feet above the finished
grade of ground to top of index of meter.
WHERLAS, there is an emergency therefore, which emergency is declared to exist,
this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its tRssage, aJ?proval
and publication as required by law.
