PURPOSES, OF FIVE MILLS ON THE DOLLAR FOR THE PURPOSE OF OILING AND MAINTAINING
STREET, OF TWO MILLS ON THE DOLLAR FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAINTAING FIRE DEPARTMENT,
OF TWO MILLS ON THE DOLLAR FOR TF..E PURPOSE OF SUPPORTING A FREE PUBLIC LIBRARY,
OF THREE MILLS ON THE DOLLAR FOR THJ:t~ PURPOSE OF PROVIDING RECREAT-IONAL PROGRAVS,
ALL WITHIN THE SAID CITY OF MERIDIAN; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO FILE A CERTI-
FIED COpy OF TIlIS ORDIKANCE WITH THE COUTY TAX COLLECTOR AND TEg_ COill~TY AUDITOR
OF ADA COUNTY, IDAHO: AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF -TID: CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA
COUNTY, - IDAHO:-
SECTION 1. That there be, and thera is hereby ,levied upon all the taxable
property within the corporate limits of the City of ~eridian, Ada County, Idaho,
'Which is taxable bylaw for State, County, and Municipal purposes, the follm.Jing
annu~l taxes for the purpose of raising revenue to defrey the necessary expenses
and liabilities to be incurred in the City of Meridian, Ada Cuunty, Idaho, for
the fiscal year commencing on January 1, 1968, and ending December 31, 1968, for
t~e following purposes, to-wit:
1. An annu.al tax of twenty-three Mills on the Dollar for general munici-
pal purposes of the said City of Meridian.
2. An annual tax of five Mills on the Dollar for the purpose of oiling and
maintaining streets.
3. An annual tax of two Mills on the Dollar for t he purpose of rraintaining
a Municipal Fire Department.
4. An annual tax of two Mills on the Do1la_r for the purpose of rrnintaining
a Free Public Library.
5. An annual tax of three Mills on the Dollar for the purpose of providing
for and regulating recreational programs.
SECTIon 2. That a certified copy of this ordinance shall be by the the City
-Clerk of the said City of Meridian, certified to the County Tax Collector and to
the County Auditor of Ada County, Idaho.
SECTlm~ 3. WHEREAS, there is an emergency therefor, which emergency is
hereby declared to exist, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as required by law.
PASSED By the City Council and approved by the Mayor of the City of Meridnn,
Ada County, Idaho, this 4th dayar March, 1968.
