- ORDINANCE NO. 171
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN RELATING TO THE BUILDING REQUIREMENTS IN THE
CITY OF MERIDIAN, AND REPEALING SECTION 2-101 OF THE MERIDIAN CITY CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA
COUNTY, lDAHO:~
Section 1.
Section 2-101, Meridian City Code, is hereby repealed.
Section 2. Section 2-101: ADOPTION OF BUILDING CODE: There is hereby adopted
by the City of Meridian for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for the
construction, alter8.tion, removal, demolition, equipment, use and occupancy, location
and rraintenance of buildings and structure, including permits and penalties , that
certain building code lmown as" the NATIONAL BUILDING CODE, recommended by the American
Insurance Association, being particularly 1967 edition, of which not less than three I' ....
copies have been and now are filed in the office of the Clerk of the City of Meridian
and the same are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length
herein, and from the date on which this Chapter shall take effect, the provisions
thereof shall be controlling in the construction of all buildings and other struc-
tures therein contained within the corporate limits of the City of Meridian.
Section 3. WHEREAS, there is an emergency therefor, which emergency is hereby
declared to exist, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force and effect from
and after its passage, approval and publication as required by law.
Passed by the City Council and approved by the Mayor of the City of Meridian,
Ada County, Idaho, this ~ day of February, 1969.
